Another good day today. I was tired from yesterday's exersions but had a really good eight hours sleep that did me the world of good.First good thing was Lunch, with some ingredients I had grown myself. A classic Quiche (provided by Mr Ocado) on a bed of salad leaves (red oak leaves among them), feta cheese (provided by Mr Ocado), and roast tomatoes from the kitchen garden.
This was followed by vanilla ice-cream (provided by Mr Ocado) and home-grown strawberries that had ripened during the afternoon, yesterday.
Alf then helped out in the garden, which was in need of a good watering and some weeding.
After lunch and some admin about the new shed that arrives tomorrow, a package was delivered - the plaque for the physic garden.
We had a good chat about the best way of propagating same, when Rita suggested we go to the local play-park to see if there were any blackberries left on the bushes.
There were. We both collected a good haul. Back at Chez Harris, I washed them and boxed them in portions. One for the fridge for adding to breakfast fruit, and two for the freezer for blackberry and apple crumble.
A really good day. The sun shone (but not too strongly), I had a lovely lunch on the fruit of my gardening labours, and left the house and went blackberrying with a friend.
