The sun was shining before 8am this morning. I let Alf out into the garden before The Dog Pack arrived to take him to Day Camp. While he was mooching in the border in search of whatever creature lives in the yard, I took some photos. I'm really pleased at the number of bulbs that were planted last Autumn that have begun to grow. Not only that, but the old snowdrops that were buried beneath the shrubs and trees before I had the border cleared, have begun to flower.
Most exciting, the peony bulbs have started to flower, and the aliums put out masses of leaves earlier in the year.
There are signs of buds on the shrubs and trees, and the camelia has been full of flower buds since last December, in its sheltered position in the yard.
In the front drive, outside the downstairs bedroom, the trough is full of Skimia, pansies, and cyclamen.

I took the car out for a drive this morning. The battery needs charging in preparation for my journey into town next Monday for my Vaccination. When I got back, despite the sun and all the harbingers of Spring, I decided to cover the car with a tarp, just in case it snowed tomorow. Any bets on the tarp ensuring that it doesn't snow in Hitchin at the weekend?
